Davis Earthmoving and Quarrying Pty Limited is a business that began more than 30 years ago. It has over 60 pieces of earthmoving equipment and employs around 30 people. The equipment includes 11 Excavators, 9 Rubber Tyred Wheel Loaders, 2 Track Loaders, 1 dozer, 2 Articulated Dump Trucks, 4 Truck and Pig combinations as well as 3 Tipping Semi Trailers and 2 Floats. Also included in the fleet of equipment are 8 mobile recycling crushers: 4 jaw type, 2 primary impactors and 2 secondary impactors. We also have 8 auxiliary screening plants including trommel screens, track mounted power grids and trailer mounted power screens. All crushers and screens are portable for work on any site. Further to this we have 3 environmental and green waste shredders. To supplement this equipment we have attachments for various sized excavators, which include hydraulic wood shears, hydraulic pulverisers, hydraulic hammers, standard grapples and rake grapples (for sorting demolition rubbish). The company is extremely experienced in all aspects of excavation work. It is also experienced in demolition and site remediation. It has undertaken many jobs with substantial site development. The company has completed large demolition jobs and recycled on site. It has also removed concrete roads and factory slabs, recycled on site and replaced again as road base. • 20 years ago Davis Earthmoving Pty Limited successfully diversified its business into recycling. Concrete, brick and asphalt, which has been disposed of from building sites, has been crushed and reused to make recycled road base, sand, and drainage products for use on buildings sites to make roads, use under paving, or behind retaining walls. The company has primary and secondary track mounted crushers as well as screening plants which can be coupled to the crushers or used for screening products. Davis Earthmoving has worked for a number of council depots throughout New South Wales, crushing and recycling concrete and brick to reduce landfill and make a reusable product. Davis Earthmoving has also had extensive experience in decontamination of sites, which includes pulling up concrete slabs and footings, disposing of unsuitable fill, and crushing of the concrete for reuse on site or to stabilise the ground, and for use behind retaining walls. • After its success in running concrete crushing and recycling plants to provide aggregates for the construction industry, Davis Earthmoving & Quarrying Pty. Ltd. has diversified further into other forms of waste processing. The environmental waste management area, which includes waste separation, shredding and recycling. We now have state of the art equipment, which can process green waste into resaleable products. Davis Earthmoving has been successfully shredding green waste for many councils and private companies in Sydney and throughout New South Wales. The company has also been involved in separation and shredding of inert building waste at Kimbriki Recycling and Waste Disposal Centre, as well as for companies such as Visy Pulp and Paper and Collex. We have a Doppstadt slow speed shredder on tracks weighing 42 tonne with a magnet. This machine is capable of shredding stumps, logs, demolition wastes and other wastes. We have two high speed shredders on tracks weighing 23 tonnes with a magnet fitted to each. To supplement this equipment we have attachments for various sized excavators, which include hydraulic wood shears, hydraulic pulverisers, hydraulic hammers, standard grapples and rake grapples for sorting demolition rubbish. We find that with the shredders on tracks they are very versatile for all contracting jobs especially when there is a lack of space. Our operators are very experienced and our equipment is relatively new and in excellent condition, giving the client confidence that there will be little delay in works for repairs. We have our own mechanics and fitters and all the tools to repair our equipment quickly. Scheduled maintenance is carried out on all equipment and this is a priority for this company as it keeps the equipment working with minimal breakdowns.
